Dear Shelly,

On this day January 18, 2011 I hereby proclaim...
"the Pacific NW is the most beautiful place in the land...
when it is NOT raining."

This is Shelly...

Last week we had book club at here house..

She put LOTS of work into it...
It was well thought out
creative
fun
energizing
enjoyable...

and yet I still found a way to be cranky.

maybe it was my ducks tough loss barely a day before...
maybe it was traveling with 4 children by myself on commercial airlines..
maybe it was the fact that since I had gotten home it hadn't stopped raining...
(let me correct that... STILL hasn't stopped... a week later)

so... my formal public apology.

Dear Shelly,
I am sorry I was cranky at book club...
not sure why Rita rubbed me the wrong way...
I love book club, and I love your creative spirit.
You bring so much "travel" "world experiences" and I love learning from you.
I promise to try my hardest to not let the rain get me into a foul mood.
I agree that especially in the spring and summer there is no better place to live than this beautiful area.
I also apologize to the rest of you lovely ladies for my crankiness.
Suzanne

P.S.
To the rest of you... if there are any others...
here are a few photos from the lovely evening that Shelly put lots of thought into.

You are so funny! Thank you for the public acknowledgement of living in the beautiful albeit "wet" northwest!
The apology was not necessary! Love you! Love yours and everyone elses perspective! That's what makes bookclub so fun!
PS still relieved Rita didn't come... ;)

There is beauty anywhere you look, yes even on the flat, dry prairies of Southern Alberta. We have not seen the sun here because of all the snow. There was a brief moment of 1/2 hour yesterday before sunset that there was some rays in the windows. How warm the living room became. I can't wait for spring and summer either. Hopefully there will only be 3 more months of winter than bring on the long days!!
