Uncle Chip came up for a BRIEF visit... think 8:30pm to 11:30am...
We didn't care we were just so excited to see him... okay I admit I was SUPER SAD that Lisa wasn't here as well, but we will take any member of the Dickinson clan at any time!
Jack was thrilled and is still asking for "Chp" So excited that he can say his name... and of course uncle Chip played ball, read stories, and hung out... isn't that what most men do? And guess what Lisa? Jack can say your name too! Can't wait until June! :)

If you Give a Pig a Pancake

Tuesday morning got woken up by Gail, the school secretary... (and a friend)
"Can you sub today for Kindergarten?" (she has already called others)
"Yeah."
"It is the field trip day in the morning & library in the afternoon..."
"So let me get this straight... you want to PAY me to go on a field trip with two of my kids... that I was already going to attend anyway?"
"Yep"
"done..."
That is just one of the many reasons I consider myself blessed...

mmmm mmmm good!

Can anyone say "yummy?"
My friend Jasmine is a GREAT cook... baker... you name it. Pies happen to be one of her specialties... Last bible study she grabbed Rhubarb from my yard (I have an abundance) and whipped up a pie that baked while we studied... You know what we did after a dose of Esther... you know it, coffee & pie! YUMMY!
Just had to share and give kudos to Jasmine for a job well done! Love you girl & am thankful for the chance to grow with you in bible study.

Random Kindness

This is a close up of the bracelet that Sam's teacher made for me... a random act of kindess... and I love it! So cute and has all my kids names on it!
Photobucket
this is a blurry shot of the bracelet... but you can see some of the detail, size, etc.
Thanks Maliaka!

Sydney runs 1 mile!

Here is a shot of the entire Kindergarten class just as Josh aka "Mr. Mac" said GO! Sydney is in the pink 2nd from the left.

Here is Sydney crossing the finish line... McKinley finished 3rd just ahead of her and Sydney finished 4th... and was So tired! This was her first time running a race.

this is the actual clip from Emma's performance at chapel 2 weeks ago. She is the one on the right... I love this song and will always think of my little one now whenever I hear it.

Negativity Yuck...

I haven't been able to get on my blog in almost a week and I have missed it... for some reason this is such a wonderful place for me to journal the events in my life.

Today I feel an overwhelming frustration with negativity. Can't people realize that we are ALL TRYING TO DO OUR BEST?? Really! I know that I have my moments of negativity that is for sure, I try with God's help to see the best in people though. There have been fairly recent situations that have been difficult for me... frustrating, hurtful, etc... but even through that I really do feel that those people were doing the best they could do as well. Doesn't mean I have to like it, but I don't have to trash them publically!

Today, I logged onto facebook, the world's largest social network... and was blasted with the negativity of folks... not directed at me or my loved ones (thank goodness!) but at people I do respect and hold in high regard. That is frustrating. I don't like that we take our personal differences and put it out there for EVERYONE to read. Can we be more selective in this process? Like confide to GOD? Ask His guidance? STop thinking that our kids are perfect and Go to the person directly... you will likely clear the mess up in moments without trashing someone publically!

Another thing that has been bothering me (I have been guilty of this) why can't we go to people we have a problem with? Why do we feel the need to talk about this with friends never giving people the chance to make things right???? Especially when it is done under the "guise of prayer"? Can anyone tell me what good comes out of "discussing" it with others? I think it actually makes the mole hill larger if you know what I mean. Nip it in the bud...

I am NOT perfect, do I gossip, yes (don't like it & am working on it) do I wrongly judge? Yes, and I try to make it right... do I screw up regularly & hurt people in the process? Yes. But guess what GOD LOVES ME... He died for me... He is working on me EVERY DAY! He is trying to "create in me a clean heart" as long as I am a willing POSITIVE spirit!

Let us all try to be positive... I truly believe that with God's help we can do this... FACE your FEARS people, with a POSITIVE attitude... this is the only life we get, what good will we do with a negative attitude? We will only grow more bitter and make others feel that same bitterness.

Today, I pray that God will work in me... help me to be positive, loving, kind, FORGIVING, a non-gossip, non-judgemental person. Do I think it will happen over night? No, but with God all things are possible!

I feel thankful

I have not fallen off the face of the planet...

I joined the working world for just over a week...

I am not used to working full time and then coming home and working full time... and having Pathfinders one night until 9pm, two nights of soccer until 7pm at least... and well all the other stuff in between. I also put together a scrapbook of about 230 people for our school as a going away gift for our FAVORITE pastor who is moving to Alaska.

So... I just want you to know... I am still here and will be back to blogging soon. I have missed connecting with you SO much. But MOSTLY, I feel thankful... thankful that I have been able to spend all these years at home with my kids. I tell you what this week truly made me appreciate my life even more than I already did! I sure enjoyed working at the school... being able to see my girls everyday... but I sure missed my little man.

So tonight on the eve of Mother's Day... I am thankful. Thankful for my wonderful life, amazing husband, and precious kids.

{Thankful}
