The Adobe + Teens + Sunshine = Fun

Many of you know that last week I was stressing out.
Like in a HUGE way.

Should we cancel the trip due to weather?
Should we go?
Should we cancel?

We decided Friday morning...
the day we were to leave.

So Jack and I packed the car for 8...
8 bags... plus all the other stuff...
including 2 adults and 6 kids.

We are going. My friends told me "relax and enjoy"

I was still worried about the coastal passes, but God was so good. The roads were basically totally dry. Only 3 small patches of slick stuff. Amen!

The sky was brilliant blue... it was freezing (like 31-34 degrees) but gorgeous.
The girls we thrilled with their apartment. They all slept here... all 10 of them.
Photobucket

We also had 2 bedrooms with 4 beds... two bath... and a full kitchen. Not your usual pathfinder setup for sure.

I have 205 pictures from the weekend. I will only share a sample here...

We ate in a banquet room...
Photobucket

We made the girls go out in the 31 degree weather with wind for a Unit 3 photo..
Photobucket

We gave a church service at the Waldport Church... and it went fabulously.

Hands performed my favorite "My Redeemer Lives" and I somehow hurt my back...
(I guess I am old)

We played at the beach for hours...

the soccer field Chet made... let the games begin...

I spent an hour taking photos of these teens... everytime they would run to me to see what their picture looked like and climb back up the bluff to do it again...
this one is one of my favs.

and the "crazy counselor shot"

the kids said and I quote "maybe your not so old after all if you can do that!"

thanks.

and we swam...

The food was fabulous.

The weather amazing.

The kids were awesome.

I actually came home from the weekend (besides my migraine, which is now gone) pumped up for the weekend and not completely exhausted like usual.

Thanks to those of you who prayed for our safety...
and believe it or not Shelly. Not sure if I have been happier to see rain than yesterday when we were driving home and it was not snow.

God is good.

I love this...

Photobucket
This is what I look forward to every month.

Tanna you totally rock. I missed you terribly tonight.

Tonight we had a little switch-a-roo... due to some sick ones we had to relocate our FLS meeting to a local joint in town. It certainly wasn't the same as getting together in one of our homes... but at least we were together.

We talked about this
Photobucket
There were mixed reviews.

Funny thing is that even when someone doesn't read, someone can't make it, plans change, we get sidetracked, we don't love the book, or we love the book...

We still have fun. We still laugh.
Tonight there were a few times that I let out a huge belly laugh... and I had to apologize again for ranking on Rita last month. I don't think I will ever live that down.

the reading of Tanna's letter.
(can I just say that I love Tanna's letters?)

Our new book!!!
Photobucket
I am SUPER excited!

Next month it's my turn to reveal!
Can't believe that it will be my 3rd time.... FLS is heading into year 3!
What a blessing.

And WOW the things we talk about now. I guess you can say that we have bonded!
Despite the laughter & the food... we still have our share of heartache and prayer requests. I am thankful that we can find "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie"

in other sweet news...
my little man and I made cookies today.

I had a craving. So I turned it into his idea.
Photobucket
Someday there will be a very happy wife out there...
in the meantime I will enjoy every second with him!

Photobucket
mixing... he even cracked one of the eggs and didn't get a shell in...

Photobucket
yum.

these ones were his...
Photobucket

one more thing...

the eggs come from these beauties...
Photobucket
Photobucket

I heard a rumor that we only have them so that our dogs can go on killing sprees...
which I admit makes for a good laugh.

But truly we love our chickens.

So much so that we got 16 new ones...

We are hoping for at least a 50% survival rating this year.

You know I will keep you posted.

#7- YOU ROCK!!! Hope you know how much I love you!!!
(we will get to 12 someday!)

It is currently snowing. My ground is white. Praying for how this will affect our Beach Trip... since the coast has been told to expect 2-4 inches... the coast people!

and for the record... after tonight I will never think of snow in the same way again...

What Happens While We Sew...

Finally!

Sam finished her bag!
Brooke almost finished her bag... but Jude got here just before we were done :(

I would be remiss if I didn't show you what happens while we sew...
Photobucket

20 minute increments of Webkinz World...
Photobucket

x 4...

But this was my favorite shot from the day...

and this is my favorite quote...

"I love you Emma cause your Warm..."
Photobucket
and at this exact moment...
(kiss kiss kiss) "I can't stop kissing!"
Which got a huge laugh from Emma.

The finished product..

Only one more bag to finish... and with the snow that is on the way I will have time to finish it! Hoping it melts by Friday!

On another note, please pray for a friend who just lost her dad. :(

This is a reminder friends, to ALL of us... while I sit away with my kiddo and her friend making bags, doing laundry, cooking, working on stuff for Church, with my kids happily(or not so happily) playing... People we love are hurting all around us. Sometimes it is visible and sometimes our dearest friends & loved ones are suffering in silence.

Hugs to you all.

It takes a village...

Four times in the last day I have heard this...

1. Judy when I had to text her and tell her that her kids were late because I was talking to them... her reply "I love that... it takes a village"

2. Shelly when talking to Janet "It takes a village... I love that when I was skiing and I posted on fb that someone might need to save Josh two people immediately replied they would pick him up..."

3. Janet when I confessed that I asked Amanda some questions on the car ride to the playoff game... "It takes a village... and a few other things I won't mention!" jk!

4. and lastly, JASMINE... this is my public personal THANK YOU for saving me today! "It takes a Village!"

this morning at a fairly early hour for a "day off" Judy dropped off my 5th daughter for the day... a little while later my 6th daughter Mariah was dropped off...

so in case your keeping track...
2 adults
6 girls
1 boy
2 dogs
2 cats
8 laying hens
5 4 day old chicks...
Photobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

chaos... and in all this wonderful chaos Josh and I snuck off...

to build a new home for the chicks so that they weren't in our downstairs laundry room... you thought I was gonna say something else didn't you?

This is a G rated site people! :)

anyway...
after the building of the "chick home" and the moving of the chicks...

this started...
"mom, can we make our bags now?"

"mom, just wondering when we can make our bags"

"mom, can we make our bags now?"

enter Jasmine via cell phone...

"Do you know how to read a pattern?"
"Are you busy today?"
"Would you mind doing me a HUGE favor?"

and she said "sure I will be there in 20..." and few other things I won't mention...
but just FYI I am wearing sweats... PERFECT... me too!!!!

Photobucket
so she came and gave me the "simple" directions... Photobucket

because so help me Judy... I could not figure out the stupid directions!!! Your posts of the awesome and gorgeous tulips in Seattle did not help btw!!! :)
Love you!

So 3 hours later... (remember we have 9 kids here at this point...) and for the majority of the time at least 5 of them were in my craft room...

We have this
PhotobucketPhotobucket
the reversible me-me bag...

unfortunately for S & B this was NOT their bag...
it was the "practice" bag that we thought would take only a few minutes of Jasmines' time (hello 3 hours)
so the questions came again..
"can we make our bags now?"

AAAAAUUUGGHHHH!!!

Since it was almost dinner Jasmine had to run...
but not before she helped S cut out most of her fabric...
Photobucket

Tomorrow I will cut the rest of the fabric for both girls...
and after school they will sew.

How is it I can do some things so easily... and other things make me feel like a fool?
Jasmine Thank You for saving the day... by tomorrow I should have 2 happy teenagers... I hope. Thanks for helping with the Village.

P.S. I had a SSS meeting tonight that lasted 3 hours and it was a blast. I can't tell you about it or... well you know.

My hubby was up cheering for the Kodiaks. Girls lost by 1, and the boys won. They are both moving on to Regionals. :)

S watched the kids for me so I could duck out... and in true Mac Style she stayed up (didn't want to go to bed till I got home) and read an ENTIRE book.

My point is that while out I may have found out that a certain someone has a blog I didn't know about.... hello? and another certain someone is up to 12 followers??? Help me out people... I am NOT competitive or anything.... but could you help me out here?

and J... I am still crying over the fact that I am not numero uno... it hurts. jk!
Thanks to my faithful FRIENDS who read my chaotic ramblings... and those of you who just stalk my blog...
