Step Out

So today didn't look how I thought it would.

I thought I would have a lazy "home" day... you know the kind where you drive your kids to school in your p.j's, no bra, no make-up, hair standing up 2 million different directions???

that didn't happen.
What did happen was that Gail called me twice to come and sub (day 3)

So instead of hanging with my little man
(who said to me "but momma you said you stayin home with me today" and "but why you goin to work, you said you stayin home" - - break the mom's heart every time)

I hung with my Super Syd... and loved every minute of it!
God just had a different plan for me...

My laundry is still overflowing, my floors are dirty... REAL dirty. My toilets need scrubbing, showers need cleaning... you name it... I did NOT get it done today.

During my 30 minute break I set up the Fellowship Hall for Children's Church... and then it was gathering teens to head to Revolve! Well with a pit stop at Red Robin for a little pre Revolve party!

There may have been a Group 1 Crew sighting... Brit Nicole... Hawk Nelson... Jenna Lucado... and this hilarious guy

Chad Eastham...
who without fail brings me to some sort of hysterical laughter over his insight into boys and girls!

Tonight there were two newbies (first time Revolvers) sitting next to us... and one of them made Judy and smile the entire time. She was so into everything and so excited to be there. It was worth all the bright lights and loud noise just for those moments watching her.

Of course Judy and I managed to crack ourselves up the entire time... sometimes I wonder how we find ourselves so funny... but we just do. It's a weird mom thing... and it sure is great to drive our teens crazy! :)

Anyway, even though Revolve is geared for teens... I am always amazed at what I came away with. God is so good. Tonight Jenna was awesome. Chad awesome. Britt Nicole AMAZING.

You look around
It's staring back at you
Another wave of doubt
Will it pull you under
You wonder

What if I'm overtaken
What if I never make it
What if no one's there?
Will you hear my prayer?

When you take that first step
Into the unknown
You know that he won't let you go

Chorus:

So what are you waiting for?
What do you have to lose?
Your insecurities try to hold to you

You know you're made for more
So don't be afraid to move
Your faith is all
It takes and you can
Walk on the water too

Verse 2:
So get out
And let
Your fear fall to the ground
No time to waste
Don't wait
Don't you turn around and miss out
Everything you were made for
I know you're not sure
So you play it safe
Try to run away

If you take that first step
Into the unknown
He won't let you go

(chorus)

Bridge:
(step out)
Even when a storm hits
(step out)
Even when you're broken
(step out)
Even when your heart is telling you telling you to give up
(step out)
When your hope is stolen
(step out)
You can't see where you're going
You don't have to be afraid

So what are you waiting,
What are you waiting for?

So what are you waiting for?
What do you have to lose?
Your insecurities try to hold to you

You know you're made for more
So don't be afraid to move
Your faith is all
It takes and you can
Walk on the water...
Walk on the water too

Powerful stuff huh?

Judy and I looked at each other and said

"STEP OUT"

That's is what we need to do... step out in Faith...
He will never let you fall.

So what are you waiting for?

P.S. Britt totally had on the cutest hot pink Cyndi Lauper Dress on... and I was thinking how much my Emma would have loved it... btw, if you don't know who Cyndi Lauper is.... you are too young to be reading my blog! Just saying. Seriously though... if you see that dress anywhere let me know...
