Teenagers + Beach + 15 Mile Hike = FUN!

A week ago my family was plagued with Influenza B.

I somehow managed to avoid it before the beach trip... but my Sam missed the trip :(

As I was signing up the other 5 girls who were going on the trip my Emma fell to the flu and I really debated whether or not I should be going on the weekend trip.

After spending 45 minutes deciding what we should do we left for Yachats, my childhood home.

The weather was fabulous and we wasted no time getting our hike on.

We started with a steep hike up to the top of Cape Perpetua.  Let me tell you we were sweating by the time we got to the top of the mountain!

Just some of the beauty...'

I know that it is a ton of photos... but just wanted you to catch a glimpse of what God blessed us with.  The forecast for our weekend was 60% chance of rain...

Thankfully predicting the weather accurately around here is not perfect science!
We enjoyed God's beauty, each others company, yummy food, and a good conversation.

The Pathfinder year is almost over... and with that my amazing unit of 10 8th grade girls will graduate and move on from Pathfinders.  After spending the last 4 years with them I have been feeling sorry for myself that this amazing journey has almost come to an end.

Counting my 1000 gifts... and this weekend and these girls are definitely one of my gifts!

5 minutes after walking through my door when we got home...
the chills started and so did the fever.  I spent the next 6 days very ill on my couch.
