Of course we keep it no secret that we enjoy the Ducks... understatement I know! :0) But really how cool is it that a team from the State of Oregon is headed south? USC has dominated the pac-10 by representing since 2002 in the Rose Bowl... 7 years running.
This year the game was on a Thursday night so we loaded up the vehicle... and headed south. Josh has this little duck that is a puppet and it has pom poms so that when you push the button the pom pom pokes out... the whole way down to the game he was doing that in the window and Maliaka, Brad, Jon & I were lol! People would pull up beside our car to see him do it again... By the time we got to the game the temps were already down to freezing... and let me tell you it was cold! The stakes have never been higher for both Oregon schools... both bands were welcomed on the field before the game and messages from both university presidents, and the Oregon gov. were aired on the jumbo tron reminding fans Competition not conflict! I loved that....
I can't believe that we made such a dramatic turn around after the start to our year in Boise State.. btw a shout out to my BSU friends who are headed to the Fiesta Bowl! Great job on your good season, undefeated! Which leads me to my soapbox... I laugh because some of Josh's students make it a point to cheer against Oregon because we love them so much... We don't care, I say find your team and cheer for them with all you have. It is just a game! I love my ducks whether they are the worst or the best... I have been loving them my entire life.. and so have my kids! Competition NOT conflict! :D
Funny story before I close...
One of Josh's students (who at school is anti-duck due to a friend...but watched the game cheering for the ducks at home... ) spent the entire evening watching for us on TV... His mom said that they had never even heard of the ducks before 3 months ago... anyway at one point in the game he was certain he had seen Josh and said "mom see him there" and she said "oh, honey I don't think that Mr. Mac would strip half naked and paint himself green..." I LOL!!! He was also worried about Mr. Mac getting trampled in the mayhem of the closing seconds of the game... she assured him we were likely headed the other direction, which we were!
the final roses from our bushes in front of the house... they are a little frozen, but I don't care!
Me and my super cool bro... who finally after 4 duck losses in a row broke the streak tonight! Sam was stressing that Uncle Brad would be a the game... we had to remind her that there is no such thing as a jinx.

the original Family shot... now add 10 more people to this and you would have our families as they stand today! :) What a treat to all get to be together for this momentous victory.
