OC Pathfinder Camporee

This past weekend I had the pleasure of traveling to Southern Oregon for the OR Conference Pathfinder Camporee... when all of the Pathfinder clubs in the Conference gather together to camp, worship, and play.

This year I am a co-counselor of the Unit 4 girls.  I love it.  We have a total of 10 girls, but 2 of them were unable to attend for the weekend.  :(  I have been with these girls for 3 complete years and love them like my own, they are amazing and super fun to be with!

Sabbath we drove to Crater Lake... I guess my dad said I was there as a 1 yr old... but for me it was my first time!  It did not disappoint!  We did a 6 mile speed hike... 3 miles per hour around part of the rim.  The views were spectacular and I was thankful to get to enjoy it with 2 of my own kids.

So pretty much I lucked out and was able to ride in Brenda's car with 4 unit 4 girls...  The trip down took 7 hours following the bus.  We set up camp (yes we pitch our own tents) ate dinner, went to the program and went to bed (after 10ish)

Sabbath up at 6:15 to take a 3 minute shower, wake the girls, eat yummy pancakes, full dress, inspection, church in the heat, 1.5 hr drive up to Crater Lake once again following the bus that thought it could... and barely did. :{  hikes 6 miles, ate dinner at the crater, drove 1 hr home, ran to the meeting, came back, staff meeting almost to bed when challenged to play cards... until after 1 am.  crashed into bed.

Sunday up at 7am.  Tents down and luggage packed by 7:45am, breakfast, meeting, games, new bus arrived... and leave the park at 12:30.  Drive 20 miles per hour up hill following the bus (oh joy) stop at every other rest area... get caught in an accident/ road closure in Eugene and detour through UofO campus :D  Drive ahead of bus to get taco bell for 60 and meet the crew at the rest area and drive home... arrival time 9p.m.

Super glad to be in my own bed last night :)  Worked today, soccer practice tonight, hot bath, and now bed.... and boy does that make me happy!  Night all!
