Today... (and every day) I am {thankful}
I just finished reading the Last Lecture and I suggest you all go pick up a copy and read it! Makes you think about the important things in life... do an inventory of your life... enjoy it... tell your loved ones that you love them and spend time with them to show them you love them... Life is short... and unexpected...
Monday night we were watching Josh play softball when a guy came running to the field screaming for a doctor... two EMTs from the other team ran off the field and my friend Melissa (a nurse) ran over as well... We stood no more than 100 yards away from a 34 year old male who collapsed between fields... and never got up. He died before making it to the hospital from a heart attack one month before he was to get married. (his fiance watched on) Melissa was one of the few trained to save lives and was unable to save his, no matter what they did they were unable to get a pulse. But I must tell you... watching someone die, even from 100 yards away is a VERY life awakening, changing moment. (especially when they are younger than you!)
My point... we are all stressed with home & job situations, money, time, sickness... the list goes on. Today I am thankful... even for the stressful things that try to take over my life. I am thankful for the wake-up call to tell my loved ones that I love them... and to show them by skipping the dishes and running through the sprinklers! I am thankful that I can read my Bible , pray and freely worship God. What are you thankful for?
